You will work within our Warfare Systems (WS) business group, a critical component of HII’s Mission Technologies division.

Anticipated Salary Range: $42,982.00 – $52,000.00

Employment Type: Part-Time/Hourly/Non-Exempt (Full-Time for Summer 2026)

Security Clearance: None Required

Required Travel: 0 – 10%

About the Warfare Systems (WS) Business Group:

This opportunity resides within Warfare Systems (WS), a business group specializing in cyber and mission IT; electronic warfare; and C5ISR systems. HII works within our nation’s intelligence and cyber operations communities to defend our interests in cyberspace and anticipate emerging threats. Our capabilities in cybersecurity, network architecture, reverse engineering, software and hardware development uniquely enable us to support sensitive missions for the U.S. military and federal agency partners.


Internship Overview:

The Financial Operations Internship is designed for college students who are rising sophomores, juniors, or seniors in their academic program. This internship requires availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during Summer 2026. You will gain exposure to financial planning, tracking, analysis, and reporting within a leading defense technology company.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Under the direct guidance of a Project Control Analyst or Manager, you will actively participate in the planning, tracking, analysis, and reporting of project performance across various contract types, sizes, complexities, and risk levels.
  • Support Division and Business Unit Financial Analysts in delivering comprehensive financial analysis and accurate financial reporting that reflects the Company’s financial position and aids in achieving strategic financial results.
  • Coordinate effectively with internal leaders to help shape requirements and ensure the successful delivery of financial insights and projects.
  • Perform professional administrative work of an introductory nature within your assigned functional area, gradually increasing in difficulty and responsibility as your skills develop.
  • Execute tasks and projects that are directly pertinent to your field of study, enhancing your practical knowledge and experience.
  • Undertake additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the team.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Must be actively working towards a bachelor’s degree with more than 20% of the required credits completed.
    • Preference given to students pursuing degrees in Finance, Accounting, Data Analysis, Economics, or related curricula.
    • Must maintain an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 or higher throughout the duration of the internship.
  • Skills & Attributes:
    • Excellent writing, communication, and listening skills.
    • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
    • Must be diligent, hardworking, and a fast learner, eager to absorb new information and processes.
    • Possesses a strong desire to gain professional experience and is eager to learn within a corporate environment.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel is required.

Physical Requirements:

Job performance will normally require only minor lifting and carrying of boxes of records or equipment.
