The Tone:
This is a full-time, in-person role located in the Metro Detroit area, supporting a large distribution company that is a client of Venteon. As a Financial Analyst, you will join a team dedicated to enhancing financial performance and operational insight within a significant industry player. This role is crucial for providing essential financial analysis, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting strategic planning by partnering directly with business units and operations. Your contributions will directly impact the company’s ability to manage costs, identify growth opportunities, and maintain fiscal stability.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Month-End Close: Support month-end close processes and contribute to the preparation of monthly financial statements.
• Operations Reporting: Prepare and maintain operational reports, supporting the financial oversight of multiple business units.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and update financial forecasts on a monthly or as-needed basis.
• Risk & Opportunity Identification: Collaborate closely with Business Unit teams to identify and address financial risks and opportunities.
• Performance Analysis: Conduct analysis on production spending and efficiency, comparing actuals against planned targets.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a closely related field. This educational foundation is essential for developing the analytical and strategic thinking required to excel in financial analysis and planning within a distribution environment.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 to 5 years of dedicated finance experience is required, specifically gained within a mid-sized or large company setting. This experience should include a strong background in comprehensive financial analysis and planning, alongside proven experience collaborating effectively with Operations business partners to achieve financial objectives.
• Skills: Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a critical requirement, encompassing advanced capabilities with functions such as Pivot Tables, Vlookup, and SUMIF formulas. Additionally, a working knowledge of a large Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system is necessary for navigating and extracting data efficiently.
