Financial Analyst / Analyst II | Intermountain Health

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support financial processes: Assist in budgeting, strategic planning, variance reporting, and ad-hoc analysis for a facility, region, division, or as part of a system-wide team.
• Generate financial insights: Produce financial forecasts, reports, dashboards, and tools for leadership and stakeholders to support business or clinical initiatives.
• Analyze data sources: Develop, analyze, and interpret routine to minimally complex data to support process improvement, operations, strategy, and cost reduction efforts.
• Prepare financial reports: Complete routine to minimally complex financial analysis, variance reports, and ad hoc reports, collaborating with internal customers.
• Contribute to projects: Participate in system-wide processes or improvement projects under supervision, ensuring timely and accurate task completion.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree preferred in Accounting, Finance, or a business-related field from an accredited institution.
• Experience: This is an entry-level role with no professional work experience required for a Financial Analyst; one year of experience in finance, accounting, or analytics conducting routine financial analysis is preferred. For an Analyst II, two years of professional experience conducting and evaluating routine financial analysis is preferred, or a Master’s degree in a related field with less than two years of experience. Demonstrated experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet, e-mail, and scheduling applications is preferred.
• Skills: Financial Analysis, Budgeting and Financial Planning, Accounting, Spreadsheets, Decision Making.
• Bonus: Knowledge of Intermountain Healthcare finances and financial processes preferred. Experience in a role requiring effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, project management skills, a high degree of accuracy, sound decision-making with limited supervision, and budgeting and finance tracking responsibilities is preferred.
