• Mission: This person processes and manages accounts payable, performs month and year-end closing, and provides payroll backup to ensure financial compliance and reporting for the Division of Forestry, Fire, and State Lands.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Processing: Process accounts payable.
• Management: Manage accounts payable.
• Maintenance: Maintain files and databases.
• Closing: Responsible for month and year end processing and closing.
• Support: Provide backup coverage to payroll.
The Must-Haves
• Background: At least a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, or another related subject.
• Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a related field.
• Skills:
• Ability to ensure compliance with contract terms, policies, and procedures.
• Ability to use logic to analyze and identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts associated with information or data to draw conclusions.
• Skill and ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
• Knowledge of principles, theories, and practices of accounting.
• Skill and ability to plan, organize, and prioritize time and workload in order to accomplish tasks and meet deadlines.
• Bonus:
• Knowledge of federal grant management and reporting.
• Ability to prepare financial reports and documentation.
• Ability to provide consultation and/or expert advice.
• Critical thinking skills.
• Ability to collaborate and work closely with various business, IT, and management teams.
• Detail-oriented and meticulous in their work.
• Must reside in Utah.
