Financial Analyst | The Davey Tree Expert Company
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Davey Resource Group, Inc., located in Richfield, OH. Davey Resource Group, Inc. is a division of The Davey Tree Expert Company, providing essential services to clients in the communication and utility industries by supporting their infrastructure. In this role, you will be critical to the efficiency of operations by enabling managers to access and analyze financial information. Your contributions will directly support better business decisions and proactive risk management across the organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning initiatives.
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities, collaborating with Operations for accurate projections.
• Prepare comprehensive financial reports and presentations for senior and field management audiences.
• Assist in the annual budget process and execute periodic re-forecasts.
• Support the monthly close process by providing insightful variance analysis and ensuring accrual accuracy.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Strong accounting background, including knowledge of GAAP and financial statement analysis.
• Experience: 2-4 years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis. Experience with month-end close and/or preparation of expense accruals. Proven experience with financial modeling and forecasting techniques.
• Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial functions). Strong understanding of financial principles and accounting concepts. Proficiency in financial reporting and data analysis. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Bonus: CPA or MBA. Preferred background in utilities, telecommunications, construction, or service industries. Proven experience with SAP & SAC-P modules. Experience with other financial planning software.
