Financial Analyst | Brooksource

This Financial Analyst position is essential for delivering comprehensive financial oversight and strategic cost management for capital projects, working closely with project managers and cross-functional teams. The role ensures financial integrity and informed decision-making across all project phases, from initial planning and design through construction.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting & Forecasting: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive project cost reports, cash flow analyses, and financial forecasts, ensuring accurate and consistent financial reporting for capital projects.
• Budget Management & Variance Analysis: Monitor project budgets and schedules closely, performing detailed variance analysis to proactively identify potential financial risks and recommend effective corrective actions.
• Project Controls Administration: Administer the project change control process, tracking all risks, trends, and change orders to maintain robust project oversight and financial integrity.
• Data Reconciliation & System Management: Manage and reconcile complex financial data across multiple project management and financial systems, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
• Strategic Financial Guidance: Analyze project controls reports, present key findings, and provide strategic financial recommendations to project leadership and stakeholders, acting as a resource for project controls questions.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a closely related field.
• Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis, project controls, or cost management, specifically supporting capital projects.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced expertise in Excel including complex formulas, PivotTables, and macros. Possess strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities. Demonstrate excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Bonus: Experience utilizing financial and project management software such as SAP, Coupa, EcoSys, or Unifier is preferred. A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel as needed are also beneficial.
