The Tone:
This is a full-time, hybrid role at UnitedHealth Group, located in Eden Prairie, MN. Optum, a global organization within UnitedHealth Group, delivers care aided by technology to help millions of people live healthier lives, connecting them with necessary resources. As a Financial Analyst, you will work with an elite team guiding the organization’s success, directly supporting senior leadership within the Optum Capital organization and providing critical financial capital reports to UHG finance leadership teams. Your work will advance health optimization on a global scale.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Develop: Develop and maintain financial reports that clearly communicate actual results, forecasted performance, and variances to plan, forecast, and budget.
• Manage: Develop, perform, and manage all aspects of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
• Produce: Produce clear, well-formatted reports and presentations that convey a compelling message for management.
• Support: Assist with management reporting, system reconciliation, and provide reporting and analytics support for SG&A and IT Finance.
• Participate: Participate on special projects and fulfill ad hoc financial requests from leadership.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Math, Economics, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience: 6+ months of financial or analytical experience, acquired academically or professionally.
• Skills: Financial acumen and P&L management skills; intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office product suite; strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; detail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills; ability to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities and deadlines; possesses initiative, self-starter, self-directed, and highly motivated.
• Bonus: 1+ years of experience; proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint; experience with Hyperion Essbase and PeopleSoft Financials.
