Staff Accountant – AI Trainer | DataAnnotation

The Tone:
This is an independent contractor role with DataAnnotation, located remotely within the United States. DataAnnotation is actively expanding into an exciting new area, dedicated to teaching AI Assistant models to be a more useful and sophisticated tool for finance professionals. In this role, you, as an existing Staff Accountant, will be instrumental in training these AI models. You will apply your specialized expertise to measure the progress of AI chatbots, meticulously evaluate their underlying logic, and proactively solve problems to significantly enhance the quality of each model. This work is critical for shaping how artificial intelligence understands complex financial principles and supports professional decision-making.

The TL;DR

• Pay: $50–$100 hourly
• Mission: To train AI models to be useful tools for finance professionals by evaluating their logic and improving their quality.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Review AI Answers: You will actively review and enhance AI Assistant answers, specifically focusing on questions related to macro trends, corporate finance, and capital markets.
• Evaluate AI Reasoning: Utilizing your advanced education and extensive work experience, you will meticulously check the reasoning and accuracy behind an AI Assistant’s work.
• Stress-Test Models: You will challenge the AI models with complex, real-world scenarios and intricate edge cases to determine where their reasoning capabilities are robust and where they fall short.
• Provide Constructive Feedback: A key part of your role involves sharing clear, well-structured, and actionable feedback essential for iteratively making each new AI version smarter and more reliable.
• Assess Model Performance: You will be responsible for giving AI chatbots diverse and complex problems, then rigorously evaluating their outputs for correctness and overall performance.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Existing Staff Accountant with expertise in financial principles and decision-making.
• Experience: Experienced finance professional with advanced professional experience.
• Skills: Fluency in English (native or bilingual level), detail-oriented, proficient in financial analysis, financial modeling, data analysis, and other reasoning exercises related to finance management.
• Bonus: A current, in progress, or completed Master’s and/or PhD is preferred.
