Job Description:
This is a full-time (40 hours/week) internship opportunity spanning 11 weeks during Summer 2025 (May – August). The internship program offers valuable hands-on experience in various finance functions and the potential for a full-time position upon graduation.
Internship Focus Areas:
Internal Audit:
• Participate in SOX control testing and internal audit assurance/advisory reviews.
• Gain exposure to Hershey’s business processes, interact with leaders across the organization, and build understanding of Internal Audit and SOX 404 methodologies.
• Potential for experience qualifying as “attest experience” for CPA licensure.
Customer Finance:
• Analyze and summarize financial performance of customers.
• Communicate with sales representatives and handle their requests.
• Utilize business warehouse applications for trade promotion analysis.
• Contribute to customer waste reduction initiatives.
• Participate in monthly close activities.
Supply Chain Finance:
• Lead the evolution of supply chain finance analytics, developing standardized analysis processes.
• Improve analytic capabilities for better decision-making, forecasting accuracy, and efficiency.
• Identify potential continuous improvement projects.
• Engage in data analysis and meetings with commercial and finance teams.
External Reporting:
• Assist in pension/401k audits, including tracking client assistance and financial statement tie-out.
• Participate in Q2 2025 Form 10-Q preparation and EY review, generating workpapers and financial statement tie-out.
• Support monthly close processes with journal entries and reconciliations.
Corporate FP&A:
• Contribute to 2026 Plan preparation and template optimization.
• Assist in 2026 Benefit Book headcount preparation.
• Document SG&A processes for forecasting and actual results.
• Develop processes and tools to audit Miscellaneous Expenses monthly.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
• Strong communication, critical thinking/analytical, and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and academic achievement in student and extracurricular activities.
• High level of integrity, business and interpersonal maturity.
• Attention to detail, adaptability, and customer service orientation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Word).
• Experience with SAP, Alteryx, and/or Microsoft Power BI is preferred.
Minimum Education Requirements:
• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program, entering your Junior or Senior year by Summer 2025.
• Majors in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Economics are highly preferred.
• GPA of 3.2 or higher is preferred.
Additional Preferences:
• Reliable transportation and ability to commute/relocate to Hershey, PA for the duration of the internship.
