The Internship Program:

Our comprehensive Internship Program is meticulously designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical corporate experience, offering young professionals unparalleled opportunities not typically found in the classroom. Beyond contributing to their respective departments, interns will actively participate in enriching professional development sessions, engage in community volunteer initiatives, and attend company-sponsored social events to foster networking and camaraderie.

  • Program Dates: Monday, June 1st, 2026 – Friday, August 7th, 2026
  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours per week
  • Compensation: Paid hourly

Internship Program Eligibility Requirements:

To qualify for this exceptional opportunity, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited institution.
  • Must hold a Sophomore academic standing.
  • Possess a minimum 3.5 GPA.
  • Ability to commit to a full-time schedule (37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday) for the entire program duration.
  • Must be able to work onsite at the designated role location.

Our rapidly expanding business is actively seeking talented summer interns for a unique and impactful role within Strategic Initiatives. This position offers an unparalleled opportunity to work across diverse strategic projects at both American National (AN) and the broader Brookfield Wealth Solutions (BWS) landscape. Initiatives may span critical areas such as Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), financings, product design, capital management, corporate development, financial analysis, and accounting.

Interns will benefit from direct mentorship by seasoned investment, finance, and senior leadership professionals across both Brookfield and American National, providing numerous avenues to demonstrate and further develop their skills and business acumen.

What We’re Looking For:

We are seeking candidates who embody a strong blend of academic excellence and professional ambition:

  • Currently pursuing coursework in Finance, Accounting, Business, Insurance, or Economics.
  • Prior exposure to investment banking, private equity, credit, or asset management is considered a significant plus.
  • Demonstrated strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Sound problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and be a self-starter.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail with high-level accuracy.
  • Capability to meet deadlines and effectively balance changing priorities.

What You Can Expect To Do In The Role:

As an intern with the Strategic Initiatives team, you will engage in a variety of high-impact activities:

  • Partner with diverse teams and leadership across American National and Brookfield Wealth Solutions, fostering key relationships and actively supporting the execution of value-creation initiatives.
  • Prepare compelling presentations and comprehensive analyses to facilitate senior leadership decision-making and support communications with external stakeholders.
  • Develop sophisticated financial and insurance capital models, including public company valuation, credit analysis, and analyses of insurance capital impacts.
  • Conduct in-depth research and provide strategic advisory to senior leadership on the development of various strategies, products, end-markets, and potential transaction opportunities.
  • Complete critical project and support tasks under the guidance of a dedicated mentor and department leader.
