Job Description: Finance Leadership Development Program (FLDP) and Finance Internship:

Thermo Fisher Scientific offers an accelerated Finance Leadership Development Program (FLDP) designed to develop the skills needed for a Finance leadership career within the company. The two-year program involves multiple assignments providing strategic direction in different areas of finance. Participants gain exposure to core processes, technologies, and leaders across various functional areas, business units, products/services, and regions. The program includes formal development sessions, executive mentorship, use of the Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodology, and networking opportunities with FLDP alumni.

The company also offers a 10-12 week Finance Internship for business students. This internship serves as a pipeline for the FLDP. Interns work on projects assigned by senior leadership, focusing on strategic and/or operational aspects of the business unit. Projects are tailored to the interns’ abilities and the business’s needs.

Key aspects of both programs:

FLDP: A two-year accelerated leadership program for developing finance leaders.
Internship: A 10-12 week program for undergraduate business students (rising seniors), serving as a pipeline to the FLDP.
Project Focus: Both programs involve working on projects with significant strategic and/or operational importance.
Mentorship & Development: Both programs provide mentoring and formal development opportunities.
Geographic Locations: Opportunities are available in various locations including Hillsboro, OR; Greenville & Wilmington, NC; Carlsbad, CA; Boston metro; Pittsburgh & Center Valley, PA.
Summer projects may include Financial Planning & Analysis, Internal Audit, Cost Accounting (Manufacturing), Commercial Finance, Strategic Pricing, General Accounting, Division Finance, Corporate Development Finance, and Data and Analytics.

Qualifications:

For the internship, candidates should be undergraduate business students (rising seniors) graduating between December 2025 and June 2026. Prior internship experience is preferred but not required. Strong results, integrity, innovation, involvement, and intensity are essential. Candidates should be comfortable with change, results-oriented, and adept at navigating ambiguity. Excellent communication skills and emotional intelligence are also crucial. Geographic flexibility is required. Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship is mandatory. The company does not sponsor visas for practical experience.
