What You’ll Actually Do
• Patient Accounts Analysis: Conduct comprehensive analysis and in-depth research pertaining to patient accounts, diligently working to ensure the accuracy and integrity of proper accounting practices within the multi-state healthcare organization. This involves scrutinizing financial records to uphold precise financial management.
• Payment Discrepancy Resolution: Perform detailed analysis of the root causes contributing to incorrect or denied insurance payments. This responsibility entails identifying underlying issues, investigating discrepancies, and supporting efforts to rectify payment errors, ultimately contributing to optimized financial operations.
• Month-End Closing Support: Actively participate in month-end closing processes by undertaking projects focused on gathering essential financial data. This data collection is crucial for preparing and making appropriate and accurate month-end closing entries, ensuring timely and correct financial reporting.
• Revenue Optimization Initiatives: Engage in various projects specifically aimed at optimizing the organization’s revenue. This involves contributing to initiatives that analyze current revenue streams, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance the financial performance of the healthcare system.
• Goal Completion: Systematically complete all assigned goals and objectives for the internship, demonstrating initiative and commitment to learning and contributing to the finance department’s success within the healthcare environment.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This role is for an Entry-Level professional. Candidates must be actively working towards an Accounting Degree with substantial upper-division coursework already completed, or be a Graduate Student holding an Accounting Degree. This foundational knowledge in accounting principles is crucial for understanding healthcare financial operations.
• Experience: Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing spreadsheet software is essential. Furthermore, candidates should be adept with other software and technology solutions relevant to financial analysis and data management, preparing them for practical application in a healthcare finance setting.
