Job Description: Finance Internship

Panasonic Energy is seeking interns for its creative Finance department team. This is a full-time, paid summer internship (12 weeks, May 19th – August 8th, subject to change) located at the Kansas City Metro Facility. Interns will gain invaluable skills and industry knowledge related to all facets of manufacturing. The program is highly regarded within the industry.

Responsibilities:

Interns will work alongside the Finance and Accounting teams, contributing to various tasks including:

• Collaborating with the Cost Accounting team to enhance the accuracy of standard costing methodologies.
• Working across teams to improve the allocation of costs across production sub-processes.
• Conducting monthly operational efficiency reviews (PPV, absorption, etc.).
• Performing monthly balance sheet reviews and reconciliations.
• Developing financial models for long-term projections.
• Preparing ad-hoc management financial reports.
• Creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for learned processes.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Essential Qualifications:
• Must be a full-time student at an accredited four-year college or university.
• Completion of at least two years of full-time enrollment (minimum 12 credit hours per semester) in a Bachelor’s degree program in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
GPA of 3.2 or higher.
• Basic knowledge of project management processes and tools.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to clearly and concisely communicate technical information.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
• Working-level knowledge of the English language (reading, writing, and speaking).
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum 3.2 GPA
• Hands-on experience from internships, jobs, research, or personal projects.
• Interest in sustainable energy solutions (energy storage, renewable energy, electric vehicles).

Physical Demands:

The internship involves a mix of sitting, walking, and standing. Occasional lifting up to 35 lbs may be required (team lifting for heavier items). The use of computers and office equipment is continuous. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required and could include items such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bump cap, and a full hazmat suit with respirator.
