About The Role: Finance Intern

We are seeking a proactive and analytical Finance Intern to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting key freight, distribution, and inventory optimization initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and driving significant financial impact for Hoffmaster.

This internship provides an invaluable opportunity for hands-on, project-based experience. You will work closely with our Finance, Logistics, and Procurement teams to meticulously evaluate cost drivers and develop robust, data-driven recommendations that inform strategic business decisions.

Key Responsibilities: What You’ll Do

As a Finance Intern, your core responsibilities will include:

• Analyze corrugate purchasing and storage practices to identify concrete opportunities for reducing onsite inventory and associated costs.
• Evaluate cost trade-offs between unit pricing and just-in-time supply strategies to optimize procurement decisions.
• Partner closely with the Logistics team to refresh and validate the true cost of pallet storage, ensuring accurate financial reporting and decision-making.
• Build SKU-level models to determine optimal ordering quantities, factoring in forecast accuracy, unit price, and storage costs.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Logistics, and Procurement departments to gather essential insights and develop comprehensive, actionable recommendations.

Qualifications & Skills: What We’re Looking For

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Business Analytics, or a closely related quantitative field.
• Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to dissect complex data.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential; prior experience with financial modeling is a significant plus.
• Comfort and capability in working with data and effectively collaborating across diverse teams.
