About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Finance Intern to play a crucial role in supporting key business initiatives. This dynamic internship offers invaluable hands-on, project-based experience, focusing on critical areas such as profitability analysis, strategic customer prioritization, and optimized inventory/SKU management. You will gain exposure to real-world business challenges, working cross-functionally with core departments including Finance, Sales, Supply Chain, and Operations. The primary objective is to develop robust, data-driven tools and processes that empower the business to make informed, strategic decisions regarding customer engagement and pricing, particularly within a constrained supply environment.
Key Responsibilities (What You’ll Do)
As a Finance Intern, you will be responsible for a range of impactful projects, including:
- Enhance Profitability Analysis: Expand and significantly improve existing customer profitability analyses to facilitate swift, practical, and data-backed prioritization decisions.
- Develop Actionable Tools: Construct simplified yet powerful analytical tools designed to readily identify both high-value and low-margin customers, guiding strategic resource allocation.
- Refine Prioritization Logic: Collaborate closely with cross-functional leaders from Sales, Supply Chain, and Operations to meticulously refine and optimize customer and SKU prioritization frameworks.
- Support Inventory & SKU Management: Actively assist in the refinement of inventory and SKU management processes, specifically those pertaining to seasonal programs and product lines.
- Ensure Data Accuracy: Guarantee the completeness and absolute accuracy of SKU and program categorization, including critical distinctions such as Seasonal, Club, and Everyday offerings.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage in robust collaboration with key stakeholders across Finance, Sales, and Supply Chain to gather essential inputs, rigorously test assumptions, and thoroughly validate analytical outputs.
Qualifications & Skills (What We’re Looking For)
We are seeking a candidate who possesses the following qualifications and attributes:
- Academic Pursuit: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Finance, Economics, Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Operations, or a closely related discipline.
- Analytical Acumen: Demonstrate strong inherent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to dissect complex information.
- Technical Proficiency: Possess strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; any prior experience with advanced data analysis or financial modeling is a significant plus.
- Insight Generation: Proven ability to translate intricate data sets and complex analyses into clear, concise, and actionable insights for diverse audiences.
- Collaborative Spirit: Comfortable and effective in working within a cross-functional environment, demonstrating excellent communication skills when engaging with diverse stakeholders across the organization.
