Position Purpose:

We are seeking a Finance Intern to join our talented team of business professionals for a 12-week Internship Program this summer at our headquarters in Westlake, TX. This program provides invaluable hands-on experience, allowing Interns to work alongside a team that values results, enjoyment, and learning.

This is not about coffee runs; Interns will learn the ins and outs of their area of specialization, represent the company in challenging enterprise-wide projects, and complete meaningful assignments. The goal is to gain the knowledge, experience, and training needed to determine if a career in finance is the right fit. We offer opportunities to learn and develop new skills while gaining a deeper understanding of concepts through immersive application.

Working closely with program managers, Interns will explore their career field of interest, acquire new skills, and develop transferrable skills. Each Intern reports to a Core-Mark leader who provides hands-on training, oversight, and mentorship. We are looking for well-rounded individuals who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement, aptitude for leadership, teamwork, analytical capabilities, excellent communication skills, and a sincere interest in pursuing a career in finance.

Internship Program Dates: May 18, 2026 – August 7, 2026

Starting Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, normal business hours. Requirement to able to work in-office 5 days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the Company’s annual business plan and forecasts, including consolidation and review.
  • Assist with preparing key monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting, variance and trend analyses.
  • Review financial performance reports, identify and investigate variances.
  • Assist with preparing and reviewing customer profitability analyses for new and existing customers.
  • Extract financial data from financial applications, as well as unstructured data sources, and assist with developing KPI dashboards.
  • Perform non-routine ad-hoc analyses.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Aptitude and willingness to learn finance processes and systems.
  • Ability to provide a high level of service to business partners.
  • Detail oriented and highly organized.
  • Takes ownership for all assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be an undergraduate or graduate student with expectations to graduate no later than May 2027.
  • Must be able to work in-office 5 days per week – residing in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, or willing to relocate.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA, or higher is required.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous internship in related field preferred.
  • Major or field of study in Finance is highly desired.
