About the Role:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Intern to join our growing team. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, this role offers a comprehensive and hands-on learning experience within a rapidly evolving logistics environment. You will gain invaluable exposure to various facets of corporate finance, contribute to critical financial processes, and participate in strategic projects that drive operational and financial efficiency.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Gain practical experience in interpreting complex, multi-layer client contracts to support specific client portfolios, followed by rigorous analysis and reporting of financial results.
  • Develop expertise in creating and meticulously auditing monthly transaction histories, ensuring accuracy based on period performance and adherence to individual client contract terms.
  • Actively assist with essential monthly closing activities, playing a crucial role in ensuring the timely and accurate reporting of financial data to Executive Management.
  • Contribute meaningfully to the company’s financial planning processes, including the preparation and analysis of revenue and expense budgets, the development of sophisticated financial models, and the creation of insightful forecasts.
  • Support the meticulous preparation of consolidated financial statements, as well as various management and departmental reports critical for strategic decision-making.
  • Participate alongside Senior and Executive Management on Special Projects, critically assessing operational and financial data to identify and recommend beneficial changes in workflow and process improvements.
  • Provide thoughtful and progressive collaboration, bringing fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to foster continuous growth and development within the Finance team.

Qualifications:

To successfully excel in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Highly computer literate with a strong command of the Microsoft Suite.
    • Advanced Excel skills are required (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, complex formulas, data analysis).
    • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics ERP, Power BI, Tableau, and SQL is highly desirable.
