Job Summary

Kairos Power is actively seeking a highly motivated Finance Intern to immerse themselves in daily finance processes, analytics, and reporting. Operating within a collaborative environment, the intern will receive guidance from the Senior Financial Analyst and work alongside experienced peers, contributing directly to operational and analytical finance initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and enhance quarterly management reporting files utilizing key tools such as Tableau, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Support the generation of data-driven insights by leveraging Alteryx and Tableau for comprehensive financial and operational analyses.
  • Assist with the preparation of project reports and collaborate closely with project managers on monthly and/or quarterly project tracking and status updates.
  • Work alongside the Supply Chain and Procurement team to streamline Purchase Order (PO) management and develop robust analytics to track key metrics.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial and analytical reports as needed or requested.
  • Support the Senior Financial Analyst with weekly cash flow reporting and forecasting updates.
  • Update and maintain forecasting and budgeting files, ensuring paramount data accuracy and integrity across all systems.
  • Acquire essential business acumen to support accurate expenditure coding on Purchase Orders.
  • Actively engage in continuous learning opportunities, with a particular focus on data analytics and process automation.
  • Gain proficiency in critical accounting/finance and analytics software, including NetSuite, Coupa, Tableau, and Alteryx.
  • Assist with data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks to support accurate financial reporting.
  • Document financial processes, reporting methodologies, or analytical assumptions to support transparency and repeatability.
  • Support month-end or quarter-end close activities through data preparation or variance analysis, as appropriate for an intern role.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to gain valuable exposure to business operations and financial decision-making processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Current student pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance, data analytics, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience or coursework in data visualization, business intelligence, or analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, SQL).
  • A keen interest in a high-growth technology company, coupled with an appreciation for clean energy.
  • Proficient in Excel; GAAP knowledge preferred.
  • Exposure to enterprise resource planning (ERP) or financial systems through coursework, projects, or prior internships is highly desirable.
