2027 Guardian Summer Intern, Corporate Finance & Risk – Compensation & Benefits FP&A | Guardian

The Tone:
This is a paid 10-week summer internship at Guardian, located in New York, NY. Guardian operates as a thriving global financial services company, dedicated to inspiring well-being. This internship offers a deep immersion into the daily environment, providing invaluable industry and organizational knowledge through business interactions and job assignments. Interns will engage in projects that directly affect the business, interact with senior leaders, and network across offices, gaining realistic experience of working at Guardian. Upon successful completion, interns may have the opportunity to be considered for Guardian’s Finance Leadership Development Program.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Compensation & Benefits: Assist in compensation and benefits related journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Position Management: Aid in various position management functions, including updating position status, performing reconciliations between systems, and maintaining ongoing operations.
• Report Preparation: Support the preparations for various financial reports, work papers, provisions, and reconciliations.
• Professional Development: Have the opportunity to work and learn from supportive leaders, mentors, and team members across the organization who will coach professional career development.
• Organizational Learning: Learn about Guardian’s purpose, values, operational methods, and its comprehensive suite of product and service offerings.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A current junior, with a graduation date of May 2028, possessing a strong interest in exploring multiple areas of Finance and Risk and a high level of comfort with finance and accounting principles.
• Experience: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Oracle, and Workday.
• Skills: Demonstrated analytical and creative problem-solving abilities; fueled by collaboration, able to listen and make quick decisions; thrives in a goal-oriented environment.
• Bonus: Curiosity, adaptability, and excitement to gain exposure to different functions and career paths across the Finance and Risk organization.
