Associate Financial Analyst | Penske Logistics

The Tone:
This is an entry-level position at Penske Logistics, located in Reading, PA. Penske Logistics engineers state-of-the-art transportation, warehousing, and freight management solutions, serving market-leading companies with operations across North America, South America, Europe, and Asia. This role provides critical accounting and analytical support, helping to drive sound financial decisions within the company’s PL Field Operations. What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Analysis: Provide overall financial analytical support, including interpreting financial results and conducting ad hoc analyses, to guide operational decisions.
• Business Planning: Assist in the preparation of annual business plans for both internal (Penske Logistics) and external customers.
• Performance Reporting: Capture and report on critical Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with both internal and external focuses.
• Month-End Close: Actively participate in month-end close processes for internal (Penske Logistics) and external reporting.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement LEAN principles, such as process improvements and Kaizen, for continuous enhancement.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred, or a willingness to pursue one.
• Experience: 0-2 years of general accounting or entry-level finance experience is preferred.
• Skills: Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, primarily in Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, along with strong written and verbal communication. An analytical mindset is essential, as is the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Bonus: A willingness to get a Bachelor’s degree, if not already held, is a plus. The ability to travel and a proactive approach to asking questions and challenging processes are also beneficial.
