Finance Analyst Intern – Power Market (Summer 2027) | Kiewit

The Tone:
This is an internship at Kiewit, located across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Kiewit is a construction and engineering organization that builds major projects spanning communities with every initiative. This role makes a profound impact on the company culture by taking part in business management, key forecasting, and accounting practices for projects ranging from $1 million to $4 billion. The position focuses on critical tasks that hold multiple areas of the business together and catalyze project success.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Full Time Temporary
• Location: In-person across the US (project specific assignment will be determined closer to start date)
• Pay: $19.00/hr – $23.00/hr
• Team: Operational Finance department within the Power Market group
• Mission: Support the business management of construction projects by executing critical accounting and finance functions.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook

What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Support: Adapt to project needs and assist in various areas, fostering relationships with the Operations team.
• Payroll & HR Management: Understand payroll and HR workflows, mastering systems for hiring, transferring, terminating, and paying employees.
• Financial Transactions: Comprehend purchasing goods, receiving and paying invoices, and maintaining internal controls for purchasing workflow.
• Cost Control & Reporting: Review costs, quantity claiming, and budget structures, making corrections for accurate management reporting.
• Financial Analysis: Identify, adjust, and review forecast and budget issues to confirm proper recognition of cost and revenue.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Business Management, and/or equivalent degree. Entry-Level.
• Experience: Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Skills: Effective communication (both oral and written), organization, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and time management.
• Bonus: Experience working with Pivot Tables, V-Look Ups, and other key excel functions. Ability to relocate anywhere in the country.
