Finance & Accounting Summer Intern | Tower Hill Insurance Group

This is a full-time, temporary internship at Tower Hill Insurance Group. This 12-week role is designed to introduce students or recent graduates to the property and casualty insurance industry, providing an exciting opportunity to face intellectual challenges. The intern will gain hands-on experience in a corporate finance environment, contributing to meaningful business initiatives while exploring emerging technologies that are shaping the future of accounting and finance.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Leadership: Lead a Lean Six Sigma project from its initial concept through to completion, with the aim of earning Yellow Belt certification.
• Financial Operations: Support critical finance and accounting tasks, including account reconciliations, balance sheet analysis, audit and compliance preparation, month-end close, and accounts payable.
• Data Insights: Conduct data analysis and prepare comprehensive reports to enhance productivity, improve financial analysis, and support informed decision-making.
• Strategic Presentations: Prepare and deliver regular project updates and presentations to senior management, collaborating with internal departments to achieve project goals.
• Industry Immersion: Engage in assigned trainings and shadow team members and an executive mentor to gain insider knowledge of the property and casualty insurance industry and its terminology.
• Professional Networking: Actively participate in social company events and onboarding activities to build professional relationships and integrate into the Tower Hill team.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Hold a High School Diploma or GED with active progression towards a Bachelor’s Degree, or possess a completed Bachelor’s Degree. This role is designed for entry-level candidates, including students or recent graduates.
• Experience: No prior professional experience is required for this internship position.
• Skills:
• Analytical acumen and problem-solving capabilities, particularly for process improvement initiatives like Lean Six Sigma.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaborating across departments and presenting to management.
• Foundational understanding of finance and accounting principles relevant to a corporate environment.
• Eagerness to learn about and explore emerging technologies, including the practical applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in finance.
