Finance & Accounting Intern | FusionSite
The Tone:
This is an internship at FusionSite, located in Nashville, TN. FusionSite is a leading provider of portable sanitation and temporary site services nationwide, partnering with local brands to deliver clean, reliable services for construction sites, events, and community projects. This role offers hands-on experience in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of a rapidly growing national organization. The intern will apply classroom knowledge in a collaborative business environment and build a strong financial foundation within a supportive team.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support Month-End Close: Assist with monthly accounting activities including bank reconciliations, journal entries, prepaid expense amortization, fixed asset tracking, and account reconciliations.
• Process Accounts Payable: Handle vendor invoices, maintain vendor records, assist with payment processing, reconcile vendor statements, and help resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Maintain Financial Operations: Support cash management activities, organize financial documentation, and assist with maintaining accurate accounting records.
• Prepare Reporting & Analysis: Help prepare financial schedules, reports, and supporting documentation used by the accounting team during monthly close and ongoing business operations.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Gain exposure to other Shared Services departments including Human Resources, IT, Safety, Risk Management, and Operations to better understand how finance supports the organization.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, having completed at least two years of coursework (preference for junior or senior year students).
• Experience: Previous internship, work experience, or coursework involving accounting principles, bookkeeping, or financial reporting is preferred.
• Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite, excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
• Bonus: Experience with Sage Intacct or another ERP/accounting software, familiarity with journal entries, reconciliations, or financial statement preparation.
