Field Operations Intern – 7-Eleven, Inc.

This is a paid summer internship designed to immerse rising talent in the fast-paced, high-impact world of retail convenience. You’ll have the unique opportunity to apply your knowledge of managerial principles to authentic, real-world scenarios, directly contributing to the success of our operations.

The program offers comprehensive exposure to all facets of our business, culminating in a significant project presentation. You will interact extensively with various key stakeholders, including Franchisees, Store Leaders, Area Leaders, Market Leaders, and Operations Support teams, gaining invaluable insights into what it takes to thrive at 7-Eleven, Inc. This is an exceptional opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students aspiring to build a career in the retail convenience industry.

What You’ll Experience: A Comprehensive Learning Journey

• Orientation & Immersion: Begin with a comprehensive orientation at our Store Support Center in Irving, TX, diving deep into 7-Eleven’s rich history, vibrant culture, strategic vision, and organizational structure.
• In-Store Operations (2-3 Weeks): Gain invaluable hands-on experience with a 2-3 week in-store immersion, mastering 7-Eleven’s operational standards, policies, and procedures directly at the store level.
• Virtual Classroom Training (1 Week): Participate in a week of virtual classroom training focused on understanding the critical Area Leader role and responsibilities, alongside foundational merchandising principles.
• Area Leader Shadowing: Build upon your store-level knowledge by shadowing an Area Leader, learning practical strategies to support and consult store operators, ultimately helping them increase sales and generate more gross profit.
• Strategic Project Assignment: Engage in a significant project focused on applying effective merchandising principles and execution to directly impact and improve store sales and gross profit.
• Case Study Presentation: Conclude your internship by presenting a detailed case study highlighting your key learnings and strategic recommendations from your project assignment.

Who We’re Looking For (Qualifications):

• Academic Standing: Currently a rising Junior, rising Senior, or a graduate-level student.
• Industry Interest: Strong, demonstrated interest in pursuing a career within the retail convenience industry.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
• Analytical Acumen: Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Foundational Knowledge: Basic understanding of retail and management principles.
• Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, maintain excellent organization, and demonstrate strong attention to detail.

Compensation:

Hourly Pay: $25.00 – $27.00

Please note: The hourly range provided represents 7-Eleven’s good faith estimate of compensation for this role at the time of posting. The Company may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range is applicable only for jobs performed in this state and may be subject to future modification. Compensation is considered earned, vested, and determinable only under the terms and conditions of applicable policies and plans. Any bonus, commission, long-term incentive compensation, benefits, or other forms of compensation and benefits are at the Company’s sole discretion, unless and until paid, and may be modified consistent with the law.
