Job Summary
This position offers a dynamic opportunity for an aspiring professional to gain hands-on experience in engineering and scientific testing. The role primarily involves conducting crucial field and laboratory testing of construction materials, including concrete, soil, asphalt, and aggregates. The successful candidate will work under direct supervision, providing essential support to senior technicians and professional staff while progressively increasing their technical skills and responsibilities.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities
- Performs various sampling and testing procedures as directed by senior personnel.
- Provides valuable assistance and support to other field and/or laboratory technicians.
- Facilitates the transport of vital equipment, specimens, or documents to field personnel, the laboratory, clients, or other office locations.
- Offers physical assistance in the set-up and preparation of testing equipment.
- Maintains a clean and organized work environment, including equipment, vehicles, and designated work areas.
- Supports other technicians or professional staff with routine assignments and tasks.
- Will be actively engaged in a structured training program, leading to a progressively increased role and responsibility in work assignments.
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma combined with current enrollment in a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree program in a science or related field (e.g., Environmental Science, Safety, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Geology).
- Ideal Candidate Profile: Candidates with less than one year remaining to complete their BS degree are highly preferred.
