Fermentation Research and Development Internship:
This internship is offered by Cargill’s Core Research and Development (Core R&D) group and provides an opportunity for students interested in Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, or Fermentation to apply their classroom knowledge in a business setting.
Responsibilities:
• Work on one or two core projects as the primary technical contributor.
• Gain practical experience in a leading agribusiness company.

Internship Details:
• Duration: 12 weeks
• Location: Wayzata, MN
• Compensation: $27.00 – $30.00 per hour (based on grad date and eligibility for full-time employment).

Required Qualifications:
• Master’s or Ph.D. student in biotechnology, life science, engineering, or related field.
• Graduation date between December 2025 and May 2027.
• Availability for a 12-week summer internship (May/June – August 2025).
• Geographic flexibility and willingness to relocate to Wayzata, MN.
• Practical lab experience in areas such as bioinformatics, genomics/proteomics/metabolomics, biochemical engineering, fermentation, microbiology, and/or molecular biology techniques.
• Basic technical skills beyond coursework in omics, fermentation, microbiology, and/or molecular biology.
• Proven ability to work effectively with diverse individuals.
• High degree of initiative and resourcefulness.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Overall GPA 3.0 or higher.
• Demonstrated abilities in collaboration, communication, motivation, interpersonal effectiveness, teamwork, and work completion.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, leadership, and technical skills.
