FedEx Intern – Detailed Job Description

As a FedEx Intern, you will engage in projects designed to provide valuable, real-world experience in a professional environment, directly related to your field of study. This is an opportunity to contribute significantly to the business while developing essential professional skills.

Essential Functions

  • Present and deliver long-term solutions that will have significant impacts on the business and/or customer experience. This involves problem-solving, strategic thinking, and effective communication of proposals.
  • Participate in various networking and/or community service events, fostering professional connections and contributing to community engagement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and willingness to support team objectives.

Minimum Education

  • Currently enrolled student or recent college graduate (within 6 months of graduation) at a college/university.
  • Must maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher.
  • Degree: Business Degree or related discipline.

Minimum Experience

  • No experience required. This is an entry-level opportunity for students and recent graduates.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Teamwork & Independence: Ability to work productively and efficiently, both independently and as an integral part of a team.
  • Technical Proficiency: Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint is essential for daily tasks and project presentations.
  • Communication:
    • Demonstrates strong interpersonal communication skills for effective collaboration.
    • Possesses verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate effectively across business units and to all levels of management.
  • Organizational Skills: Time management, organizational, and multi-tasking skills are necessary to thrive in a fast-paced environment, handling various tasks and changing priorities.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain a high attention to detail and accuracy to achieve daily assignments and goals.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze information, review data, and make sound recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Candidates on an Aviation degree path and who have completed their private pilot license.
  • Basic understanding of airline language, FAA guidelines, and flight operations.

Pay Transparency

  • Hourly Pay:
    • $25/hour for undergraduates.
    • $30/hour for graduate students.
  • Relocation Stipend: A $2,000 stipend is available for those relocating over 50 miles for an on-site or hybrid internship or co-op experience.
