What You’ll Actually Do
• Contract Auditing: Plan, perform, and report on contract audit assignments undertaken in connection with procurement and contracting activities between the Federal Government and its contractors.
• Data Examination: Prepare detailed working papers and analyze diverse contractor data, leveraging automation tools to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Cost Verification: Execute assigned audit steps, specifically focusing on tests and examinations of a contractor’s direct labor and material costs.
• Record Integrity: Meticulously check reports, records, ledgers, and other financial documents against source documents like invoices, receipts, and payroll slips to verify transaction appropriateness and proper recording.
• Team Collaboration: Actively participate with other team members, providing timely updates on the status of audit assignments, sharing vital information, and assisting in identifying necessary revisions to team goals.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Accounting is required. Alternatively, a related degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or Public Administration is acceptable, provided it includes a minimum of 24 semester hours of accounting credits (which may incorporate up to 6 hours in business law). Candidates must maintain a GPA of 2.95 or above. Furthermore, applicants must be U.S. citizens and willing to commit to working exclusively in Denver, CO.
• Experience: Entry-level, requiring no professional or prior auditing experience.
• Skills: Application of accounting principles for contract audit assignments; Financial data verification and analysis; Proficiency in record-keeping and documentation.
• Bonus: No certifications required, including a CPA license, with DCAA offering financial support for future job-related education and certifications.
