About the Internship Experience

The Internship experience at FCA is specifically designed to develop student athletes by helping them discern their calling and career path, while simultaneously introducing them to various aspects of ministry through FCA. FCA Interns are collegiate volunteers who engage in a learning and developmental ministry experience during either a summer or a semester period.

Please note: Interns serving with FCA are not employees and do not receive compensation by the hour or for the production of their work. However, Interns serving with FCA may receive a nominal stipend to assist with living-related expenses during the course of the internship.

Program Goals and Specifics

FCA internship experiences can vary significantly from location to location. However, the primary and overarching goal of each internship is to develop the intern’s understanding of their individual calling to ministry through relevant training and practical experience. Ministerial Duties

These responsibilities are absolutely critical to the FCA mission, and this position plays a vital role in our ministry. FCA expects all functions and responsibilities outlined below to be carried out with a heart surrendered to serving God as a form of worship.

  • Agreement and Adherence: Agree with, and abide by, FCA’s Christian Community Statement.
  • Spiritual Discipline: Follow a spiritual rhythm including daily prayer and Bible study to consistently seek the Lord’s will for FCA.
  • Spiritual Leadership: Lead, conduct, and provide spiritual leadership for staff, volunteers, coaches, and athletes through prayer, Bible study, worship, and living by example, thereby equipping them to serve others effectively.
  • Church Involvement: Connect to and actively participate in a local church through worship and weekly involvement.
  • Biblical Conduct: Conduct yourself in a manner that consistently affirms biblical standards of conduct in accordance with FCA’s Christian beliefs (as detailed in FCA’s Christian Community Statement) at all times.
