Job Title: Spring 2026 Fashion Design Intern

Job Type: Unpaid Internship requiring academic credit.

Location: Primarily in NYC (Midtown) at the company’s atelier, with remote work as needed.

Schedule: 2-3 days per week (16-20 hours).

Start Date: Spring 2026.

Key Learning & Development Opportunities:

• Gain a comprehensive understanding of the product development lifecycle, from initial concept to final production.
• Acquire hands-on experience in the development process directly within sample rooms.
• Learn professional correspondence techniques with vendors.
• Build a professional network within a creative industry setting.
• Understand the process of packaging and transmitting information to mills and factories.
• Handle pattern corrections for sampling and production planning.
• Develop an understanding of the diverse roles involved in product creation, aiding in future career path exploration.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with steaming fit samples.
• Organize the Ready-To-Wear (RTW) space.
• Label all fit samples and SMS (Salesman Samples).
• Maintain the fabric library.
• Sort fabric headers into appropriate files by vendor and fabric type.
• Assist in preparing RTW boards by cutting/pinning current linesheets and organizing them by category and season.
• Tag fabric rolls.
• Send out packages.
• Provide support during style-outs and photoshoots.
• Assist the design team with concept and research development for seasonal deliverables.
• Create flat mechanical and hand sketches for presentation boards and tech packs.
• Assist with Design/Market research for trims, details, and emerging trends.
• Trace, correct, and file patterns.
• Create and update Tech Packs and CM (likely referring to Cut Make or Costing/Construction details).
• Attend fittings, take detailed notes, and assist in revising changes.
• Develop relationships with local vendors.
• Pick up and drop off materials to sample rooms.
• Provide support with order tracking and shipping logistics.

Requirements:

• Availability to work 2-3 days per week (16-20 hours) at the atelier in Midtown, New York City.
• Strong desire to learn and a collaborative, team-player attitude.
• Proficiency in hand and machine sewing skills.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva, and InDesign.
• Patternmaking knowledge is preferred.
• Familiarity with the luxury and sustainable ready-to-wear market.
• Knowledge of sustainable fashion practices is a plus.
• Proficiency in Google Office Suite and Microsoft Excel.
• Exceptional detail orientation and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to receive academic credit from an educational institution, as this is an unpaid internship.
