The Tone:
This is a hybrid role, offering valuable flexibility with one to two days of remote work each week, for an established and expanding family law firm. The firm holds a strong reputation for its dedicated advocacy and comprehensive legal services, specializing exclusively in the intricate and sensitive field of family law. This critical position directly supports the legal team by expertly managing extensive case documentation, facilitating the entire discovery process, and meticulously preparing for all court proceedings. The role is fundamental in ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of legal assistance to clients, thereby upholding the firm’s commitment to excellence, client satisfaction, and its continued growth in the legal community.

• Mission: This person supports legal teams by managing case documentation, assisting with discovery, and preparing for court proceedings to ensure efficient legal services and client satisfaction.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Document and Financial Preparations: Draft and finalize a comprehensive array of legal documents, including intricate motions, various pleadings, detailed discovery requests, critical affidavits, and formal notices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards. This also includes assisting with essential financial documentation such as disclosures, affidavits, and calculations pertinent to family law cases.
• Case Progression Management: Proactively oversee calendar management, ensuring all critical deadlines, court appearances, and attorney appointments are tracked. Diligently monitor Florida county clerk dockets for case updates and proceedings, and accurately handle all electronic filing (E-filing) requirements within the Florida court system.
• Discovery and Trial Support: Facilitate and manage key aspects of the discovery process, including organizing and processing information. Provide comprehensive support for all stages of trial, mediation, and court hearing preparations, ensuring attorneys are fully equipped with necessary documentation and logistical support.
• Client Relations and File Maintenance: Serve as a crucial point of contact for client communication, providing timely updates, responding to inquiries, and gathering essential information. Establish and maintain highly organized physical and digital case files, ensuring easy accessibility, proper categorization, and secure storage of all legal documents.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates must possess a minimum of two years of direct professional experience as a civil paralegal, demonstrating a solid foundation in general legal practices and litigation procedures.
• Experience: Required experience includes proven proficiency with Florida E-Filing systems, a strong working knowledge of navigating and monitoring Florida county clerk dockets, and practical experience in comprehensive trial preparation. Additionally, candidates must have demonstrated ability in preparing a variety of legal documents, such as motions, pleadings, discovery requests, affidavits, and formal notices.
• Skills: Exceptional organizational skills for maintaining meticulous case files, strong attention to detail for accurate document preparation and calendar management, and effective communication abilities for interacting with clients and legal teams.
• Bonus: Previous experience specifically within family law is highly preferred. Additionally, applicants bringing substantial general litigation experience from other civil areas are strongly encouraged to apply.
