Job Description
• Job Title: Fall 2025 Operations Undergraduate Internship
• Purpose: To provide operational support to the Manager of Administration and Special Projects and Office Manager within the Operations team.
• Location: In-person at the New York City office.
• Responsibilities:
• Assist with general administrative, event support, research, and clerical work.
• Tasks include filing, photocopying, answering phones, shipping and mailing, coordinating meetings, drafting routine correspondence, and covering the reception desk.
• Opportunities to attend and observe substantive meetings, events, and conversations related to program work.
• Qualifications:
• Essential Traits: Independent self-starter, friendly, cheerful, energetic, punctual, resourceful, positive, detail-oriented, highly organized.
• Skills: Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Passion: A passion for the Brennan Center’s issues (democracy and justice).
• Problem-Solving: Highly organized and able to find solutions with minimal supervision.
• Communication: Comfortable speaking on the phone and greeting visitors.
• Technical Proficiency: Experience with Windows, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word is a must.
• Adaptability: Open to evolving responsibilities.
• Physical Requirement: Must be able to lift over 25lbs.
• Attitude: Must have a sense of humor.

• Eligibility: Only open to current undergraduate students.
• Hours: Approximately 10 – 20 hours per week.
• Pay: $17.50 per hour.
• Note: The internship will not be paid if the intern’s school rules disallow paid internships (e.g., if receiving credit necessitates an unpaid internship). If participating in a formal school program allowing more hours, a determination will be made based on the Center’s needs and program assessment.
