Job Description: Fall 2025 Virtual Internship Opportunity

This is a Fall 2025 Internship Opportunity offered by Their Story Is Our Story (TSOS), designed for passionate students or recent graduates.

Location: The internship is entirely Remote / Virtual.
Commitment: Interns are expected to commit for 8 weeks, with a maximum of 10 hours per week.
Key Dates:
Application Priority Deadline: September 24, 2025, 11:59 pm MDT (applications remain open until all positions are filled).
Internship Offer Notifications: October 5, 2025.
Offer Acceptance Deadline: October 8, 2025.
Orientation Meeting: October 16, 2025, 4:30–5:30 pm MDT (mandatory).
Internship Start Date: Orientation begins October 16, 2025.
Weekly Large Group Meetings: Thursdays, 4:30–5:30 pm MDT / MST (mandatory).
Small Group Meetings: Scheduled at times agreed upon with supervisors.
Final Large Group Meeting: December 4, 2025, 4:30–5:30 pm MST.
Program Concludes / Deliverables Due: December 9, 2025.

Overview:
The Fall 2025 Internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit work, storytelling, policy advocacy, and program development. Interns will collaborate with experienced staff, receive mentorship, and develop skills applicable across various sectors. The role involves engaging deeply with refugee narratives, advocating for change, and supporting global storytelling efforts.

Roles & Areas of Focus:
Interns will be placed in one of three primary focus areas based on their skills and interests:

1. Advocacy:
• Conduct policy and contextual research.
• Draft blog and LinkedIn content.
• Aid communications for the Refugee Physicians Advocacy Coalition.

2. Story Production:
• Transcribe and edit interviews.
• Collaborate on story curation and organization.
• Assist in preparing content for future multimedia projects.

3. Program Development:
• Support the Executive Director with research on new program models.
• Help build templates, proposals, and partnership strategies.
• Brainstorm proactive training and mentoring project designs.

Eligibility & Expectations:
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a higher education program (or actively working toward an educational goal).
• Possess strong writing, research, and communication skills.
• Capable of working virtually and independently.
• Demonstrates respect for confidentiality, cultural sensitivity, and trauma-informed approaches.
• A strong passion for refugee advocacy, storytelling, and equity is essential.
• Attendance at weekly meetings and orientation is mandatory.
