BUILDING & GROUNDS CUSTODIAN II | State of Hawaiʻi

The Tone:
This is an entry-level position at the State of Hawaiʻi, located in Honolulu County, HI at Leeward Community College. This role is vital for ensuring that Leeward Community College’s facilities, grounds, and walkways are consistently clean, safe, and functional for all students, faculty, and staff. The TL;DR

• Mission: Maintain clean and functional buildings, grounds, and walkways at Leeward Community College through routine cleaning, groundskeeping, and basic repair tasks.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Facility Cleaning: Perform routine manual work to clean and maintain college buildings.
• Grounds Maintenance: Keep surrounding grounds and walkways tidy and well-maintained.
• Basic Repairs: Conduct simple building maintenance and repair work as required.
• General Support: Execute other related duties to ensure the comprehensive upkeep of the campus facilities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. No specific training or experience is required for this position.
• Experience: No prior experience is required. For the immediate vacancy, possession of a valid driver’s license is a requirement at the time of appointment.
• Skills: Ability to perform routine manual work tasks, including cleaning, grounds maintenance, and simple building repairs.
