Job Description: Facilities Co-Op 2024-2025
This Co-op position offers a chance to contribute to the company’s mission by working on projects aimed at improving process efficiency, reducing cycle time, minimizing costs, and elevating the overall quality of execution within the assigned department.
Key Responsibilities:
• Project Management: Implement projects using project management methodologies like FPX to ensure successful outcomes.
• Process Improvement: Apply process excellence methodologies, including Lean/Six Sigma, to implement significant improvements in assigned areas.
• Project/Product Development: Undertake and complete basic project/product development tasks, including writing specifications, maintaining documentation, testing processes and equipment, and validating equipment and processes.
• Collaboration: Contribute to the creation of concepts and designs for new products, processes, and test methods.
• Reporting: Prepare reports and documentation to effectively communicate project results.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and occupational health policies, including ISO14001 and OSHAS 18001 standards.
• Communication: Communicate business-related issues or opportunities to the next management level.
• Flexibility: Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility to meet evolving business needs.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial preferred)
• Full-time availability (40 hours/week) during the Co-op/Intern session.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without future sponsorship requirements.
• Enrolled in an accredited college or university with a good academic standing and at least two years of completed studies.
• Previous internship/Co-op and/or academic research experience is preferred (0-2 years of work experience).
• Extracurricular experience in student associations/organizations is a plus.
• Excellent Spanish writing abilities.
• Availability to work during three rotations within the company (August 2024, May 2025, January 2026).
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with knowledge of Visio and Minitab being desirable.
• Ability to assess issues, establish priorities, and act with a sense of urgency.
