Technical Accounting Analyst | Armstrong World Industries

The Tone:

• Team: Reports to the Manager, External Reporting in the Controller’s Department.
• Mission: Responsible for critical accounting areas like cash flows, derivatives, and pensions, while supporting external reporting and SEC filings.
• Tech Stack: SAP preferred

What You’ll Actually Do
• Cash Flow Management: Prepare the monthly consolidated statement of cash flows.
• SEC Reporting Support: Assist with the process for Quarterly and Annual Reports on Form 10-Q/K, including selected footnote preparation.
• Pension and Post-Retirement Accounting: Record necessary accounting entries and develop associated budgets and forecasts for defined benefit pension, post-retirement, and post-employment plans.
• Asset Impairment Testing: Perform annual goodwill and intangible asset impairment tests.
• External Audit Liaison: Serve as a key contact for external auditors.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting.
• Experience: 1-2 years of accounting or finance experience; public accounting or financial reporting experience preferred.
• Skills: Proficient knowledge of US GAAP and SEC regulations, ability to research complex accounting issues, strong interpersonal skills, and excellent written & oral communication skills.
• Bonus: CPA Preferred
