Trial Paralegal | Linklaters Americas

This role is crucial for providing essential support across all phases of litigation, from case inception through trial and post-trial proceedings, requiring close collaboration with partners, associates, and other team members.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Case Management: Manage and maintain case files, including pleadings, correspondence, and discovery materials, while preparing and updating timelines, issue charts, witness lists, and exhibit lists.
• Discovery Coordination: Coordinate and manage document collection from clients and third parties, assist with e-discovery workflows, and maintain production and privilege logs under attorney supervision.
• Deposition Support: Assist in preparing deposition outlines and witness materials, identify and organize potential exhibits, and coordinate all logistical aspects for depositions.
• Trial Execution: Prepare comprehensive pre-trial materials such as witness and exhibit binders, manage trial logistics including war room setup, support trial technology, and provide on-site courtroom assistance.
• Client and Team Liaison: Serve as a primary organizational contact for attorneys, clients, and vendors, coordinating meetings, tracking follow-up items, and assisting with matter budgeting and invoices.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree and/or completion of an accredited paralegal program, with a core domain in litigation, qualifying for an Experienced Professional role.
• Experience: At least five years of paralegal experience in litigation, with significant demonstrated experience supporting all phases of trial in New York state and/or federal courts, including pre‑trial preparation, live trial support, and post‑trial work.
• Skills: Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and document management systems. Hands-on experience with e-discovery tools and platforms (e.g., Relativity, Everlaw, DISCO or similar). Strong organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and attention to detail.
• Bonus: Comfort working with trial presentation software (e.g., TrialDirector, Sanction, OnCue) and real-time transcript tools. Experience in complex commercial litigation, securities, regulatory investigations, or arbitration. Demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with external vendors.
