The Canadian Unitarian Council (CUC) is currently embarking on a significant period of growth and transformation. It is a national community dedicated to nurturing relationships with congregations, volunteers, staff, and partners across Canada and beyond, supporting the sustainability of Unitarian Universalism in the country.

Position Summary:

The Canadian Unitarian Council is seeking a dynamic and values-driven Executive Director to lead the organization through its next season of growth and transformation. This pivotal full-time role requires a leader who can maintain steady, values-based leadership amidst change, while simultaneously fostering and strengthening vital relationships within the Unitarian Universalist movement.

The Executive Director will work in close collaboration with the CUC Board of Trustees. Their primary responsibilities will include supporting the CUC’s shared vision, fostering a thriving national community, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of Unitarian Universalism in Canada through curiosity, creativity, and care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide steady, values-based leadership through periods of organizational change and transformation.
  • Nurture and strengthen key relationships with congregations, volunteers, staff, and partners across Canada and internationally.
  • Collaborate closely with the CUC Board of Trustees to support and advance the shared vision of the organization.
  • Contribute to the thriving and vibrant nature of the national Unitarian Universalist community.
  • Demonstrate curiosity, creativity, and care in all aspects of leadership and community engagement.
  • Work towards the long-term sustainability of Unitarian Universalism in Canada.
