Events Marketing Intern – Kitty Hawk Kites (2026)

Job Summary

The Marketing Intern will play a key role in various aspects of our diverse marketing program, with opportunities to collaborate across different company departments.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Plan & Execute weekly Kids’ Days for their assigned area, under the guidance and supervision of the Events Coordinator.
  • Innovate & Promote unique ideas to generate excitement for events and attract visitor participation.
  • Assist with the weekly distribution of KHK marketing materials.
  • Build & Maintain Relationships with other local businesses to foster partnerships.
  • Undertake other projects as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • Currently enrolled in a college program specializing in Marketing, Events Planning, or a related field.
  • 0 – 2 years of related Marketing experience.

Preferred Experience:

  • Customer service, communications, social media, or office experience.

Skills

  • Strong Organizational Skills.
  • Detail-Oriented.
  • Comfortable with multitasking.
  • Strong and current social media skills, with the ability to manage platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
  • Excellent Customer Service skills and a professional demeanor essential for making a positive first impression.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with customers.
  • A committed team player.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations with customers and clients.

Working Conditions

  • Varied work environment: Mix of indoor and outdoor settings, depending on location.
  • Moderate to noisy environment: Expect typical business office machinery, people talking, and background music.
  • Potential for overtime and weekend work during the company’s in-season time period.
  • May be required to drive a company vehicle to various locations.
  • Availability to work holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements

This role involves a dynamic range of physical activities:

  • Approximately 1/3 of the time involves physical activities such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • 1/3 to 2/3 of the time will be spent standing, walking, sitting, and reaching.
  • Approximately 2/3 of the time involves fine motor skills (fingering, handling, feeling), along with talking and hearing.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Required Vision: Close, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Other physical demands come from continuous computer work, cash register operation, sales floor activities, event coordination, and mail order tasks.
