Job Description
This is a job posting for an Event Technology Intern at Encore. The intern will assist in the setup and operation of audio-visual systems for both large and small scale live events. They will work to ensure client satisfaction and learn about the field through technical and sales support. The position will be either field-based or at one of the company’s offices, reporting to field or corporate management.
Key Responsibilities:
• Equipment Operation: The intern will be responsible for setting up, operating, and breaking down basic audio-visual equipment to ensure a flawlessly executed event. This includes following technical specifications and ensuring timely completion.
• Customer Service: The intern will strive to exceed the expectations of both internal and external customers. This includes maintaining a positive relationship through effective communication, meeting with guests on-site to understand their needs, and monitoring the event to ensure their satisfaction. The intern will also be responsible for fostering the hotel/client relationship.
• Technical Ability: The intern will need to understand the technical aspects of the job, including basic troubleshooting and problem-solving with equipment and software issues. They will handle equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner.
• Systems Knowledge: The intern will understand company processes, follow procedures, and complete systems entry and paperwork accurately. They will utilize equipment sheets to determine scheduled equipment, interact with staff and outside vendors, utilize up-selling techniques to increase revenue, work with clients on finalizing invoices, and complete order entries in the Navigator system.
Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a BA/BS degree in Hospitality, Business, Media Production, Radio/TV/Film, or a related field.
• 0-6 months of experience in field audio-visual or customer service.
• Technical aptitude demonstrated through interest and exposure to new technology.
• Ability to work at a hotel location within the major metro market they are applying for.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Work Environment:
• The position can be in a hotel/convention center, warehouse, or office environment.
• Exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt, sand, dust, noise, heights via lifts and ladders.
• Working times may include irregular hours, on-call status, and may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Adherence to appearance guidelines as defined by Encore.
