Description
This job posting is for an Event Audio Visual Technician position. The role involves setting up and operating basic/small-scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment, ensuring complete customer satisfaction. This position reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director, or Director of Event Technology.
The responsibilities include:
• Equipment Operation: Ensuring flawless event execution through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment.
• Customer Service: Exceeding expectations and needs of internal and external customers, maintaining positive relationships through effective communication. Meeting guests on-site to ensure their needs are met and equipment is working properly. Monitoring events and checking in on customers throughout the day. Understanding and fostering the hotel/client relationship.
• Technical Ability: Understanding technical aspects of the job, demonstrating basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for equipment and software issues. Handling equipment challenges and changes professionally and promptly.
• Systems Knowledge: Understanding company processes, following procedures, and completing systems entry and paperwork accurately. Using equipment sheets to determine scheduled equipment setup and strike. Interacting with staff and outside vendors for equipment. Increasing revenue through up-selling techniques. Finalizing invoices with clients and completing order entries as needed.
Internship Currently pursuings include:
• High School Diploma required. Associate’s degree is preferred.
• Achieve Technical Level 3 Certification per Encore Technical Skillset Matrix within 180 days.
• 1 year of customer service or hospitality experience is preferred.
• 1 year of audio visual experience or equivalent in an educational environment is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license is required for those who may operate company vehicles. Additional DOT requirements may need to be met if applicable.
