The Tone:
This is a 1st shift Supervisor role at GE Aerospace, located at its US headquarters in Evendale, Ohio. GE Aerospace is responsible for engine development, assembly, testing, manufacturing operations, engineering, supply chain, and support functions. This role is crucial for leading 24/7 fire operations and crisis management, safeguarding 6,000+ employees, critical technology, and extensive assets across a 450-acre VPP certified and Title V EPA site. You and your team will ensure comprehensive plant protection, including physical and electronic security, fire prevention, and emergency response.

The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Location: In-person, USA(Ohio)

• Team: Leads a team of Unionized Fire Inspectors and Paramedics; partners with the Evendale Security Supervisor on Plant Protection and crisis management.
• Mission: To lead 24/7 Fire Operations, ensure life safety, protect property, and manage crises, securing GE employees, technology, and assets at the Evendale facility.
• Tech Stack: Access Control systems, CCTV, Radio Operations, fire and security technology systems (hardware and software), computer systems.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead Fire Operations and Life Safety: Lead a team of Fire Inspectors and Paramedics to provide fire protection, crisis management, and life safety support for all personnel on the Evendale site.
• Manage Incidents and Communications: Ensure timely and accurate information sharing regarding events or incidents to the Infrastructure Leadership and liaise with local, state, and federal law enforcement.
• Enforce Compliance and Standards: Ensure compliance with all government regulatory requirements relative to Security and Fire Protection, enforce fire prevention ordinances, and design and implement emergency response plans.
• Oversee Security Technologies and Training: Identify compliance vulnerabilities, implement Fire/Security technologies throughout the site, and instruct all employees in Fire and Security practices and procedures.
• Conduct Investigations and Risk Assessments: Conduct preliminary investigations, perform risk assessments and vulnerability studies, and assist in developing service and maintenance contracts.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college; or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in fire operations or management.
• Experience: At least an additional 3 years of experience in fire and/or security management, leadership, or operations.
• Skills: Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays; possess a valid driver’s license; ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
• Bonus: Communications/Operation Center experience handling dispatch, Access Control systems, CCTV, and Radio Operations; experience with fire and security technology systems; supervisory experience in a Unionized environment; thorough knowledge of modern fire suppression, prevention, and emergency medical service principles; well-rounded understanding of total quality management techniques; knowledge of Department of Defense Industrial Security requirements; Associates Level in Fire Protection, Security Management or related field; experienced Safety Officer; State Certified Fire Inspector; State Certified Firefighter Level 1; Certified Incident Commander; experienced in Hazmat and/or Confined Space Rescue; State of Ohio Emergency First Responder; maintain Class “A” physical status.
