Estimating Intern – Phoenix Buildings

As an Estimating Intern for PCL Buildings Inc. within our Phoenix Buildings division, you will play a crucial role in our team by gaining hands-on experience across various aspects of construction project management and estimating.

Responsibilities

• Assist Field Engineers, Project Managers, Superintendents, and/or Estimators in conducting safety and quality audits to ensure compliance and high standards.
• Read and understand complex construction drawings and specifications.
• Log submittals and process Requests for Information (RFIs) to ensure clear communication and documentation.
• Assist with surveying and project layout tasks.
• Maintain and update field drawings, field equipment, and project records.
• Assist in coordinating subcontractors, vendors, and field staff to ensure smooth project operations.
• Attend relevant project meetings, contributing to discussions and understanding project progress.
• Prepare various forms and documents, including memos, letters, meeting minutes, and contracts.
• Assist with comprehensive project documentation requirements.
• Support estimating activities, including soliciting subcontractors and/or suppliers for information and pricing.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the project team.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a degree relevant to the construction industry, such as Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• Possess a strong desire to pursue a long-term career as a Project Manager, Superintendent, or Estimator within the construction industry.
• Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
• Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a valid Driver’s license.
• Willingness to temporarily relocate to various project locations as needed.
• Ability to navigate through a construction site daily, including climbing ladders and stairs.
• Comfortable working around and near heavy equipment, cranes, and other construction machinery.
