Job Description: Estimating Intern
This internship offers the opportunity to join KIE’s growing Estimating Group. The intern will be part of the rapidly growing Infrastructure Design Department and will contribute to the successful completion of design-build projects in the infrastructure market.
Key Responsibilities:
• Review, analyze, and interpret Contract Documents (RFP, specifications, etc.)
• Perform quantity takeoff and pricing for design-build projects
• Coordinate with estimators and engineers/designers to provide constructability input and value engineering
• Participate in Task Force Meetings, brainstorms, and working sessions
• Identify, quantify, and communicate project risks
• Perform site visits and investigations as needed
Qualifications:
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related degree
• GPA above 3.0 preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Strong mathematical and computer skills
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Strong work ethic, ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good interpersonal and organizational skills
• Attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
• Willingness to travel as required
Compensation:
• $18.00/hr – $24.50/hr (subject to variation based on factors such as education, experience, skillset, and location)
