Job Description: Equity Research, Junior Analyst – Biotechnology

This role involves partnering with a Senior Analyst to conduct fundamental equity research within the Biotechnology sector. The position requires a strong understanding of financial markets and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities:

Research & Analysis: Conduct fundamental equity research to produce differentiated industry and company-specific insights. This includes building and maintaining financial estimates, updating financial databases, and writing reports on companies and industry trends.
Financial Modeling: Create and update financial models for biotechnology companies.
Reporting: Write research reports covering company updates and significant industry themes.
Relationship Building: Cultivate relationships with covered companies, industry contacts, and internal stakeholders (Equity Sales, Cash Trading, Derivatives, Wealth Management, etc.).
Communication: Effectively communicate the team’s perspectives on covered companies to internal and external audiences.
Compliance: Adhere to all relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies, including FINRA compliance.
Collaboration: Work effectively within a team and across different departments. The role requires both independent work and collaboration with colleagues.
Event Attendance: Participate in company and industry events.

Required Qualifications:

• 6+ months of securities research program experience (or equivalent experience).

Desired Qualifications:

• BS/BA degree or higher.
• 6+ months of direct equity research experience in Biotechnology.
• Strong teamwork, collaboration, and adaptability skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (financial modeling).
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Excellent writing skills and attention to detail.
• Understanding of financial statement analysis and accounting principles in capital markets.
• Familiarity with investment tools like Bloomberg or FactSet.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Job Expectations:

• Up to 10% travel.
• Successful completion of FINRA SIE, Series 63 (or 66), Series 86, and Series 87 registrations (within 180 days of hire, unless already held).

Compensation:

$100,800.00 – $179,200.00 (base pay range)
