About the Job: Equity Research Intern
Role Summary:
The Equity Research Intern is responsible for supporting the Equity Research team (Associates and Analysts) through various tasks including research, client support, data collection, and conducting statistical studies related to industries, individual companies, and their securities. The role involves gaining training and on-the-job experience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Data Management: Search, collect, consolidate, and interpret company and industry data.
• Model and Database Maintenance: Develop and maintain financial models, market monitoring systems, and databases.
• Report Preparation: Prepare portions or more of research reports, notes, and briefs.
• Communication: Communicate effectively and handle information requests.
• Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance as required.
• Financial Modeling: Input data into proprietary financial models to create charts, dashboards, and other supporting materials.
• Other Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the team.
Skills and Attributes:
• Analytical Prowess: Excellent analytical skills coupled with a strong understanding of relevant financial and accounting techniques.
• Communication: Ability to express ideas effectively and fluently.
• Writing Skills: Capacity to write clearly, concisely, with speed, and precision; a fast learner.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of spreadsheets, presentation software, and the Internet, with particular proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Work Ethic: Self-motivated, organized, possessing strong attention to detail, and willing to work within a flexible schedule.
Qualifications:
• Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree.
• Availability: Must be available to work during the spring semester.
• Work Hours: Able to commit between 20-30 hours per week.
• Location: This is an in-office internship, located in Roth Capital Partners’ Newport Beach, CA office.
Compensation:
• Minimum-wage.
