Job Description: Environmental & Sustainability Intern

Purpose of the Internship
Dee Zee, Inc. is seeking a motivated Environmental & Sustainability Intern to provide crucial support for its environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives. This role is designed to help the company achieve its compliance objectives and progress towards its ESG goals. The internship offers practical, hands-on experience across various areas including ISO 14001 systems, sustainability reporting, and diverse environmental projects within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
The intern will be accountable for a range of tasks supporting environmental and sustainability efforts:
• Assisting with the maintenance of Dee Zee’s ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS).
• Supporting environmental reporting through meticulous data collection and documentation.
• Helping to prepare necessary information for various sustainability reporting platforms, such as CDP, EcoVadis, and MFG 2030.
• Contributing to the development and production of Dee Zee’s Corporate Sustainability Report.
• Participating in cross-functional projects specifically designed to promote environmental stewardship throughout the company.
• Supporting internal audits and ensuring accurate compliance documentation.
• Gaining exposure to broader Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) activities, which may include conducting inspections and assisting with incident investigations as needed.

Qualifications
Candidates for this internship should meet the following criteria:
• Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Health, Public Health, Biology, Chemistry, or another related field.
• Possess strong organizational and analytical skills, demonstrating a keen attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required; any prior experience with databases or reporting platforms is considered a plus.
• A genuine interest in environmental compliance, sustainability, or ESG reporting is essential.
• The ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment, which may involve exposure to conditions such as coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise levels, and variable temperatures.
• Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively across different teams.
