Environmental Summer Internship at Georgia-Pacific

This 12-week program offers a unique opportunity for aspiring environmental professionals to gain practical experience in a manufacturing setting. Interns will:

Become an integral part of a facility team at a designated manufacturing location, working alongside an experienced mentor.
Receive hands-on training on environmental practices and their application at GP.
Gain exposure to business and manufacturing processes.
Participate in initiatives driving environmental excellence and sustainability.
Learn and apply Principle Based Management™.

The internship program is designed to provide real-world experience, challenge interns with meaningful projects, and empower them to take ownership of their work.

In addition to the daily role, interns will participate in:

Weekly learning sessions
Location-specific programming
Professional development activities

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the facility team’s environmental efforts.
• Learn and implement environmental best practices.
• Participate in sustainability initiatives.
• Understand and apply Principle Based Management™.
• Contribute to projects and problem-solving.

Eligibility Requirements:

Rising Sophomore or Junior in a bachelor’s degree program or alternative program (e.g., 2-year technical college program, certificate program, upskilling program).
Ability to relocate according to program requirements.
Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States without requiring visa transfer or sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Enrolled in an Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Health, Natural Sciences, or related Engineering degree program.

Compensation:

Anticipated hourly rate: $27 – $30 per hour
