Environmental Summer Internship at Georgia-Pacific
This 12-week program offers a unique opportunity for aspiring environmental professionals to gain practical experience in a manufacturing setting. Interns will:
• Become an integral part of a facility team at a designated manufacturing location, working alongside an experienced mentor.
• Receive hands-on training on environmental practices and their application at GP.
• Gain exposure to business and manufacturing processes.
• Participate in initiatives driving environmental excellence and sustainability.
• Learn and apply Principle Based Management™.
The internship program is designed to provide real-world experience, challenge interns with meaningful projects, and empower them to take ownership of their work.
In addition to the daily role, interns will participate in:
• Weekly learning sessions
• Location-specific programming
• Professional development activities

Key Responsibilities:
• Contribute to the facility team’s environmental efforts.
• Learn and implement environmental best practices.
• Participate in sustainability initiatives.
• Understand and apply Principle Based Management™.
• Contribute to projects and problem-solving.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Rising Sophomore or Junior in a bachelor’s degree program or alternative program (e.g., 2-year technical college program, certificate program, upskilling program).
• Ability to relocate according to program requirements.
• Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States without requiring visa transfer or sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Enrolled in an Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Health, Natural Sciences, or related Engineering degree program.
Compensation:
• Anticipated hourly rate: $27 – $30 per hour
