Environmental Safety & Health (ESH) Internship | AUMOVIO

The Tone:
This is an internship at AUMOVIO, located in New Braunfels, TX. Since its spin-off from Continental, AUMOVIO is a technology and electronics company that continues to develop a wide-ranging portfolio for safe, exciting, connected, and autonomous mobility, including sensor solutions, displays, and assistance systems. This developmental role provides practical experience within the Environmental Safety & Health function, supporting a 24/7 automotive parts manufacturing facility that specializes in Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. The intern will play a crucial role in contributing to the successful operations and overall safety and compliance of this significant manufacturing investment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Work Environment Evaluation: Evaluate the work environment for occupational safety, environmental protection, fire protection, security, and health.
• ESH Process Implementation: Assist with the development and implementation of ESH related processes to ensure legal compliance and effective emergency response planning.
• Safety Analysis & Planning: Conduct occupational safety checks for equipment, and utilize risk assessment methods to generate safety analyses, concepts, and emergency preparedness plans.
• Waste Management Oversight: Aid management in program elements to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding control and disposal of waste.
• Targeted ESH Projects: Contribute to key focus projects, including risk assessments for new equipment, enhancements to the Lockout Tagout program, ergonomics evaluations, and recycling/environmental sustainability initiatives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in an accredited University Degree Program, pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in occupational safety and health, environmental sciences, engineering, or natural science.
• Experience: Proof of functional knowledge of occupational safety and/or environmental protection, and a 3.0 overall GPA or higher.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
