Environmental, Health & Safety Intern – Green Bay, WI – Year round | Schreiber Foods

The Tone:
This is a year-round Environmental, Health and Safety internship at Schreiber Foods, located in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Schreiber Foods operates a plant environment where this role will provide valuable hands-on experience. This position focuses on supporting EHS initiatives, company objectives, and plant-specific assignments, contributing to compliance and safety program development within the company.

The TL;DR

• Type: Year-round (40 hours/week summer, 15-20 hours/week school year)
• Location: In-person, Green Bay, Wisconsin
• Pay: $20.75 hourly
• Team: EHS Team
• Mission: To support EHS initiatives and plant safety objectives by developing and implementing safety programs, procedures, and training materials.
• Tech Stack: Articulate software, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Data Analysis: Collaborate with the EHS team to gather and analyze safety data, helping to develop safety metrics and reporting tools.
• Training Development: Assist in the development of a plant safety training plan and prepare safety training materials in Articulate software, procedures, and documentation.
• Team Participation: Participate in meetings and discussions with the EHS team to provide insights, recommendations, and communicate plant EHS initiatives.
• Procedure Creation: Assist in the development of Machine Specific Lockout Tagout procedures for plant equipment.
• Educational Material Development: Develop contractor/vendor EHS educational materials and tracking mechanisms.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
• Experience: Ability to work 40 hours per week during the summer and 15-20 hours during the school year.
• Skills: Strong research and data organization skills with attention to detail; excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); ability to work independently and collaborate within a team environment; reliable transportation.
